The Solution

Right away BE mentored and guided the team as they spent a great deal of time discovering the true passion and authenticity of each of its members. We focused on establishing a shared vision and understanding that responsibility for success rested with each of them. In essence, the company leadership and BE made a conscious choice to treat each employee is an owner of the company, so the culture needed to change from the old ?management dictates and worker bee does? mentality to a ?we? mindset.

In re-establishing the company, the team adopted the BE Principle of open and honest communication between themselves, their customers, and their vendors. In going back and listening to what their customers needed, they had to ?release? some old customers and find some new ones. Everyone participated equally in discussing the strengths of the company and the opportunities they saw in the marketplace. The team did not let their egos, fears or historical baggage get in the way; rather they focused on the mission they undertook. They released the belief that the outcome had to look a certain way, instead staying focused on what they wanted and asked for it.

Leadership worked to create a ?safe? environment for the team, and tried very hard to assist them to behave differently with each other than they had on any other team. They continue to work every single day at becoming a better team, empowering each other to excellence, focusing on customer results, and getting their own egos out of the way.
